Suribachi 2010
Location: Near Tocquerville, UT
Date: 27 Mar 2010 (Sat), 0800 to approx 1600

We're putting on our trademark event once again in the rugged, wide open terrain of southern Utah. If you haven't been before, this is a one-of-a-kind event you'll never forget. If you have, you know how challenging and exciting it is. The attackers' (U.S. Marines) push forward to secure key terrain, and finally raise the U.S. flag atop "Mt. Suribachi". The defenders (Japanese) try to keep them from their objectives.

Note: This is a physically demanding scenario, and will probably be the toughest paintball you've ever played. The terrain is steep, and the battle will be uphill. COME PREPARED.

Background:
The Battle for Iwo Jima was one of the most momentous battles of WWII and American military history. The rocky, volcanic terrain of Iwo Jima ("Sulphur Island" in Japanese) was tailor-made for the defense. At the southwest point of the island, the dormant volcanic cone of Mt. Suribachi rises 550ft from sea level to command the entire island. As the Marines came ashore on the 19th, the massive bulk of Suribachi loomed over them and taking control of it was the primary objective of the 28th Regimental Combat Team (28 RCT).

This Rangerball scenario roughly emulates the struggle for Mt. Suribachi, and commemorates the many brave men who fought there.

Videos:

The first three are from Badfinch. They're in rough sequence, but some of the cuts are out of order. The last three are from Vegas Fire Squad, showing more or less same sequences, but mixed a little differently in each one. All give a good idea of the action at Suribachi.
